On 24 May 2017, the 30-day moving average of the all India unemployment rate increased by 11 basis points to 3.94 per cent, as compared to the previous day. This was due to an increase in both rural and urban unemployment.
The 30-day moving average of rural unemployment rate rose massively by 14 basis points to stand at 3.62 per cent. Similarly, the 30-day moving average of urban unemployment rate witnessed a 8 basis points shift to 4.58 per cent for the same period. As a result of this similar upward trend, the urban-rural differential decreased by 6 basis points to 96 basis points.
